Built by someone who's lived the problem
Mitch Helmink · Founder

Dirt Market was created by Mitch Helmink, a construction professional who has spent his career working through nearly every phase of a project — as an Estimator, Project Engineer, Project Manager, and Director of Operations.
Across all of those roles, he's had firsthand exposure to jobsite operations, logistics, and the day-to-day decisions that determine whether material moves efficiently or not.
The problem
One issue kept repeating itself: how inefficient dirt hauling is managed.
On every job, countless hours are spent trying to source import material, find waste sites, coordinate hauling, and make last-minute phone calls — often while usable dirt is being hauled off one project and another nearby is paying to bring it in. It's inefficient, expensive, and accepted as “just how it works.”
It shouldn't be.
Dirt Market was built from the vision of simplifying this process — creating real connections between projects so contractors can save time, reduce costs, and keep jobs moving.
The goal isn't to overcomplicate logistics or introduce another bloated system. It's to make dirt sourcing and disposal easy, practical, and accessible.
Built for real construction workflows
Construction jobs move fast. Schedules change. Crews are waiting. People don't have time to learn fancy new programs or sit behind a desk all day.
Dirt Market is built to work on the go — mobile-friendly, quick to check, and updated in real time. It fits the way you already work.
How it works
Contractors upload their import or export needs. The platform handles matching and coordination.
The focus stays where it belongs: on building the job, not chasing dirt.
Dirt Market isn't a tech experiment. It's a field-driven solution built by someone who lives the challenges every day — designed to work the way construction actually works.
